Aldo Miguel Grompone International Cultural Enterprise

In 1994, starts his activity as independent producer, distributor and promoter of events in the realms of music, theater, dance and art, both in Italy and abroad.
As a private cultural impresario, he has been the executive producer and co-producer of important artistic events and shows.

Here follows a selection of the more important theater productions:
Producer of the three most recent works by the Lithuanian director, Eimuntas Nekrosius: the Shakespeare Trilogy. Hamletas (1996), a play produced with the Hebbel Theater of Berlin, la batie in Geneva and the Zuercher Theater Spektakel. This work was awarded the Association of Italian Theater Critics UBU Prize for the best foreign work of the 1998/99 Italian theater season.
Macbeth (1998), co-produced in collaboration with the Orestiadi in Gibellina and with the Festival of Palermo on the 20th Century. Awarded the Golden Mask 2000 by the Festival of Moscow, Russia, and the UBU prize for the second time.
Othello created in November 2000, co-produced with the Venice Biennale and the Lithuanian Culture Ministry. He produced A World without Visa by and with Vanessa Redgrave, in collaboration with the Moving Theater of London. Its worth to mention the participation as Delegate Producer of Questa sera si recita a soggetto [Tonight We Improvise], by Pirandello, directed by Luca Ronconi and co-produced by the Teatro di Roma, the Wiener Festwochen and Lisbona Capitale Culturale.

From a certain time he has been professionally committed to the promotion and distribution of Italian theater abroad, creating occasions for the new realities in theater. He has worked especially in promoting the work of the Italian theatre company Societas Raffaello Sanzio.

Many are the initiatives and promotional activities he has set up for presenting international quality theater in Italy and abroad. He has produced numerous tours such as the National Theater of Craiova, the Moving Theater of London, Compagnie Rosas of Bruxelles, Hanna Schygulla, the Teatro di Roma and the Teatro Stabile di Torino (with four productions by Luca Ronconi: Affabulazione, Calderon, Aminta and Questa sera si recita a soggetto), La Cuadra of Seville, Fura dels Baus, Deutsches Theater Weimar, Theater Volksbhune and the Hebbel Theater of Berlin, Theatidithalia Milano, the Giorgio Barberio Corsetti Company, the Centre Chorgraphique National of Orlans and Montpellier, the Thetre de Complicit London, Ultima Vez, Bruxelles, Swan Lake by Adventures in Motion Pictures.

His activities in the financing of theater productions are various: Gli aghi e loppio [Needles and Opium] by Robert Lepage, Questa sera si recita a soggetto directed by Luca Ronconi, Silviu Purcaretes new play De Sade/ A Sad Story for Bologna Capitale Culturale 2000, the recent In Spite of Wishing and Wanting with Wim Vandekeybus as Choreographer for the Teatro Comunale of Ferrara.

Since 1999 he has been dedicated to the realization of contemporary arts projects. Among these, a project on new artistic creativity by young people in an exhibition and tri-dimensional film and a video art production by the artist Paola Lo Sciuto, Il Regno, impronte e percezione [The Kingdom, Marks and Perception], shown in Rome at the Teatro Vascello (May 1999), in Mexico City at the University Museum MUCA (November 1999) and at the Gallerie der Stadt Remscheid (January 2000), with a preface by Achille Bonito Oliva. He curated the exhibition Exit by the same artist in Bologna at the Comunale della Salara space, in the context of the Capitale Culturale event.
For some years now he has been engaged in the promotion and presentation of work by Jan Fabre, producing the important show called Passage (catalogue edited by Aldo Grompone), curated by Mario Codognato and held at the Cantieri alla Zisa in collaboration with the City of Palermo (September 1999). As producer, he has also collaborated in the realization of Romeo Castelluccis first art exhibition presented with the City of Palermo at the ex-hospital for the mentally ill in September, 2000, whose catalogue he edited, with a preface by Francesco Bonami.

He was also Consultant for CIDIM (National Italian Music Comitee), for ETI and for Romaeuropa, for the 1999, 2000, and 2001 three-year Latina project organized by the Italian Government for the promotion and organization of Italian Arts in South America.

He is also Representative of the Culture Secretariat of the city of Buenos Aires (Argentina) for the promotion abroad of the Buenos Aires Tango Festival. Among the presentations, the inaugural evening of the Romaeuropa 2000 Festival, La Cit de la Musique and the Thetre National de Chaillot in Paris, May 4 - 27, 2001 and June 2003..
